There are numerous programs and special options available for the student to repayment their loan. If you are searching for the different affordable programs to repay student loan then you are at the right place.

Options for Repayment

None of the student loan provider's repayment policies are same. Once after you complete your graduation you leave school but you have to start repayment then. In the case of federal student loan you usually get a six-month grace period to start repayment. Your lender will communicate you before and during your studies about repayment. As repayment plans of lenders may vary so make sure to contact your loan provider for different repayment plan before receiving loan from them. A variety of repayment options are given bellow please go through that and update your knowledge

Standard Repayment Plan

In a standard repayment plan you have to repay your entire debt within 10 years. There won't be any hike in your monthly installment during the repayment period. If you will not put priority or choose any option then all your loans will be considered into standard repayment plan. Standard Repayment Plan can be more affordable to the borrowers who have steady monthly income.

Graduated Repayment Plan

This plan is not similar to the standard repayment plan as instead of paying a same amount of monthly installment you have to pay a smaller amount in the beginning and gradually increase the payment in every two years. The overall interest will be accumulated over the life of the loan. You have to pay more interest as compare to other standard repayment. Those who have possibility of salary or wages increment they can afford the graduate repayment plan.

Income Sensitive Repayment Plan

Although this plan is very much similar to the graduated repayment plan yet the rate of increase in repayment depends on your income increase. So in income sensitive repayment plan your monthly payment will be proportional to your currently monthly income. You can take up to 15 years to pay off your student loan in income sensitive plan.

Extended Repayment Plan

This is a flexible plan for all types regardless financial background as it allows you to pay the least possible amount per month and repayment may be extended to 10 to 25 years. Timing for repayment depends on the total amount you owe and your affordability. On the other hand you may have to pay more interest, as you will take longer time to repay.

Loan Consolidation

Loan consolidations not only lessen your burden of your heavy repayment but also can combine your loans from various lenders into one loan with a single monthly payment. It allows you to take longest period to repay and at a lowest monthly income yet your total borrowing cost may increase due to the long time factor.
